Happenings week of 8-15-2011

Picnic in front of the Old Capitol downtown Iowa City.

I decided to try the Elvis sandwish - it has peanut butter, honey, bacon and a banana.

Grant and Rachel watching Abbie do her lock combination to get her school supplies in her locker.

Grant and Rachel having fun being football players at Scheel's.

More fun at Scheel's - they decided to try a shooting game to kill some wild boars.

Abbie helping Grant put labels on all of his school supplies before the ice cream social.

Grant hanging out in his new classroom.

Last lunch out before school started on Thursday.

Rachel putting her birthday party invitations together for her slumber party. She came up with the whole idea of making them look like sleeping bags. I know her Aunties will be so proud that she came up the with idea all by herself.

Grant showing off his marigold that FINALLY bloomed that he did last year in school and I got in May - yes it did bloom Mrs. Hubbard - took all summer but we have a beautiful flower.

I decided to get some feedback from the kids on their first day of school.

How my table was set up for the Iowa City Farmer's Market.

This time I sold - apples, owls, monkeys, pirates, clowns and chicks.

Nothing like seeing your friend at the market - thanks for coming Danaman.

The kids made it towards the end of the sale to work the table. We sold out of ALL of the 125 cakes pops I brought - good day at the farmer's market.

Abbie, Rachel and Grant working on some new experiment called smelling stones. Once they get hard they put them in their dresser drawers to make their clothes smell good.
